Beet Sugar

Beet sugar is a type of sugar that is extracted from sugar beets. Sugar beets are a variety of beet that has a high sugar content, typically between 16-18% sugar by weight. The process of producing beet sugar involves washing, slicing, and extracting the sugar from the beets, and then purifying and crystallizing the sugar to produce the final product. Beet sugar is a common sweetener used in a wide range of food and beverage products, including baked goods, confectionery, and beverages. It is similar in taste and texture to cane sugar, and can be used as a substitute in many recipes. Beet sugar is also commonly used as a feedstock for producing ethanol, which is used as a biofuel. Compared to cane sugar, beet sugar has a slightly different flavor profile and a slightly higher mineral content. It is also often less expensive than cane sugar due to the lower cost of producing sugar beets in some regions. However, in terms of nutritional content and caloric value, beet sugar and cane sugar are similar.
